Throughout your life being true to yourself can be very difficult. You want to fit in with the cool kids. You want to be accepted. You want to be useful so others can see the value you hold.

Here’s a few tips to be more authentically YOU. I trust it helps as you continue to go through life trying to find your authentic self.

Building trust with yourself takes time. Every day when you show up for yourself, you have to remember it’s all about you. Be full of yourself. It’s that simple.

When you start your morning routine, you are doing it for you. Self-care is essential if you want to find your authentic self. Once you have established a system, a routine, for what you need to do for yourself, you will begin to feel like yourself – your authentic self.

Once this inner dialogue becomes your outer dialogue with the world, your inner voice will begin to resonate with your community, and your authentic self will shine.

I have found that when you become more useful to others, your authentic self becomes more alive.

You feel like you are a part of something larger than yourself. You feel included and not excluded. You are part of a larger mission, and you want to contribute more of your skills, passions, and ideas to the group. You feel safe and secure to share your ideas with the group.

Once you discover how to be more useful as your authentic self, your truth pours out because your cup is overflowing with it.  

Working on yourself is one of the hardest things you will ever do to be more authentically YOU. It takes effort, time, discipline, and if I may be so bold, consistency!

I am sure you have heard of all these outstandingly boring words you like to say over and over again to yourself, but don’t understand how important they are until the time comes to step up and share your truth with others.

It’s not the glamorous side of finding your true authenticity, but it helps tremendously when you want to provide value to your community! If you don’t take the time to work on yourself, you won’t ever achieve real authenticity.

So show up for yourself before you show up for others! Be intentional with yourself and ask the hard questions!

What do I desire? How does this align with my community? How do I show up to serve in a meaningful way?

Don’t be afraid to be YOU. Trust the process. Take it one day at a time, and remember to have FUN!

It’s not the destination but the journey that you will learn to be more authentically YOU!
