You are led to believe that if you build it, they will come. “They” meaning the customers, the community, and the money after what you have built for them. That’s not always the case. Sometimes, or most times, what you build just sits there idle without any sales.

This is where I find most of my frustrations with people who try to become entrepreneurs. The struggle in selling. I don’t like to be sold products or services that I have no interest in at all– distraction marketing. Whereas permission marketing, I’m inviting the audience to experience a story that they can get involved in at a price. Whether that price be with their time, money or energy– everything has a price.

I know good marketing takes time. It takes time to build the momentum, to have top-of-mind awareness, to trust what the product or the service I buy will actually serve me, giving me a reason to care. But sometimes, my impatience gets the better of me.

I launched Crypto Rush last week, and I only got 1 sale. I have over 7k followers on X, over 2k followers on TikTok and a few hundred on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. Combined I have nearly 10 k on all social media platforms and almost 200 subscribers from this weekly newsletter, which I have spent the last 30 weeks distributing! Now can you understand my frustration? One sale. This is how I know social media marketing is dead. Or, maybe, I’m just doing it all wrong.  

As much as I want AI to do everything, I know it can’t sell. It can give me great ideas and build whatever website I want, but at the end of the day, I still have to put in the work, the time, and the sweat equity in showing up every single day, talking and posting, over and over, about a RWA product that 1 person bought.

Sometimes I want to quit being an entrepreneur. Sure, I love the freedom, but with that freedom comes responsibility. I believe most people on the internet don’t know what they want. But the ones that do will support 110%.

Consistency is key, I keep telling myself. Keep putting in the reps, good content, that gives people a reason to care, to buy, and to support. Hitting the pain points of the customer is key. The emotional labor I put into serving others is paramount to my success. And one day, I may get sale #2.

Best AI tip in the world right now (the one that improves results the fastest): 

Treat the AI like a brilliant new hire with no context—and give it crystal-clear context + a concrete definition of success (plus a format).

This “one tip” keeps showing up across the best vendor guidance because it’s the highest-leverage variable you control: models can’t read your mind, so output quality tracks input clarity.

Anthropic literally frames it as “a brilliant but very new employee (with amnesia)” and emphasizes giving context and being explicit. 

OpenAI’s prompt best practices say the same thing: be specific and detailed about context, outcome, length, format, style, etc. 

The “do this every time” prompt pattern (copy/paste)

Use this template whenever you want a noticeably better answer:

1) Goal (1 sentence): what you want done  

2) Context: what the AI needs to know to do it well  

3) Success criteria: what “good” looks like (constraints, must-haves, avoid)  

4) Output format: exact structure (bullets/table/JSON), length, tone  

5) Examples (optional but powerful): 1–3 mini input→output examples

Why it works:

- Clear instructions + separation of instructions and content reduces the model guessing what you mean.   

- Context (audience, purpose, where this fits in a workflow) helps the model choose the right level of detail and the right tradeoffs.   

- Examples (“few-shot”) are one of the most reliable ways to steer outputs without fine-tuning.   

A strong “best-tip” prompt you can use immediately

Replace the brackets and send this to any AI:

Prompt

- Task: Draft [what you want].  

- Audience: [who it’s for].  

- Context: [background + what you’ve already tried + what matters].  

- Success criteria:  

  - Must include: [must-have items]  

  - Must avoid: [pitfalls]  

  - Constraints: [time/budget/length/tech limits]  

- Output format: [bullets/table/steps], max [N] words, tone [tone].  

- Quality bar: If anything is ambiguous, make the best assumption and state it explicitly before answering.

This aligns with the “be clear, direct, detailed” rule of thumb from Anthropic and the “be specific about desired context/outcome/format” guidance from OpenAI. 

Two quick upgrades that feel like “cheat codes”

1) Put constraints and format in writing

People often say “keep it short” or “make it a table,” but not in the actual prompt. Vendors consistently recommend explicitly specifying length and format. 

2) Use examples when the shape matters

If you want a particular structure (e.g., how to label fields, what counts as “an insight”), add 1–2 examples. This is widely recommended as “few-shot.” 

A common misconception (important)

A lot of people think the best tip is “tell it to think step by step.” That’s not reliably true anymore: OpenAI’s reasoning best practices caution that explicit “think step by step” instructions may not help and can sometimes hurt, and instead emphasize being specific about the end goal and constraints.
